No. 2 Mark Chmura

Before he was scoring touchdowns on Sunday for the Green Bay Packers, Mark Chmura was racking up the catches for the Boston College Eagles.

Chmura (1987-1991) still has his name all over the Boston College record book. He ranks fourth in career receptions (164), which was tops all-time when Chmura left school. Chmura ranks sixth in yards (2,046) and finished with 11 touchdowns.

After using a redshirt in ’87, Chmura had four seasons of consistency. He had a 47 receptions in each the ’89 and ’90 seasons and had over 500 yards in each of his three final years in school.

The 1991 season culminated with Chmura being selected to the All Big East first team.

Chmura’s NFL career was a solid one as well, before being derailed by injuries. He played in seven seasons, was named All-Pro tight end twice, and won a Super Bowl in 1997.

Off the field, Chmura had his fair share of issues, including a sexual assault charge, of which he was later acquitted.

Chmura was inducted to Boston College’s Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2012.
