As much as Elton John and Jon Bon Jovi have come to love the New England Patriots, they have nothing on Massachusetts native and “Captain America” star Chris Evans.

When it comes to Patriots fandom, the Hollywood star will describe himself as greater than a “10” on a chart from 1-to-10 and like most Massachusetts natives have grown up loving the Patriots through their low points, but mostly have enjoyed over two decades of success.

Although Evans has demonstrated more of a love for Tom Brady than the team recently, he’s a proud fan who will defend his favorite player and his favorite team whether it’s on social media or during interviews.

Chris Evans grew up a New England Patriots fan

In a 2019 interview with Men’s Journal, Evans talked about growing up near Boston, how deep his Patriots fandom goes and how he understands why everyone else may have disdain for the team he grew up loving.

"“They’ve been to more Super Bowls than any other NFL team’s entire history,” Evans said.  “Tom Brady himself has been to more than any other team’s entire history.  I understand that probably p**** people off – It’s like why people hate the Yankees: They’re just too good.”"

So, how is Evans dealing with the team’s recent struggles?  Well, he vowed to become a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan if Brady left which takes away some points on his dedication to the team, but we’ll let that slide.
