New England Patriots Draft Options

Justin Fields

Justin Fields fits the mold of where the NFL is going when it comes to current play. An athletic quarterback who can make all the throws. It is unlikely he falls to No. 15 for them, but there really is a chance the Patriots could trade up to go get him. Fields would be a pipe dream for the Patriots as they would have the future.

Zach Wilson

There’s a legitimate chance that Wilson goes No. 2 to the New York Jets. Wilson has maybe the best arm talent in the draft, even contending with the expected first overall pick Trevor Lawrence. His ability to deliver a pass at any part of the field and running ability makes him the perfect choice to be a future franchise quarterback.

That being said, don’t get your hopes up for him to be a Patriot.

Trey Lance

The question mark of the first round.

Trey Lance decided not to play in the 2020 college football season to prepare for the draft. That being said, he is a guarantee to go in the first round and could be there for the Patriots. He has the arm, athleticism, and grit to be a good fit. If he makes it there, the Patriots could have their franchise.

Mac Jones

The most realistic option when it comes to the draft is Mac Jones. The Crimson Tide quarterback is expected to go in the first round after an excellent college football season. It’s a matter of Belichick believing in him, which could be tough for anyone to do considering it only being one season of it being clear.

Next. Bill Belichick still the best coach in NFL history. dark

There’s no guarantee as to who will be the starting quarterback in 2021. But what is for certain is it will be something to watch.
