Patriots late-round 2021 NFL mock draft 1.0: Ohio St LB highlights Day 3
Round 7 240: T.J. Vasher, Wide Receiver, Texas Tech
When it comes to seventh round picks, the New England Patriots will hope to find a Julian Edelman type of player with the skill and determination to develop into a solid NFL player.
With his size, Texas Tech wide receiver T.J. Vasher is a player the Patriots could select and have on the practice squad before he works his way onto the 53-man roster.
At 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds, Vasher is a player with great hands, catching about anything in his radius. A great red zone target, this is a prospect worth taking a shot on in hopes that his best days are still ahead.
With his freakish athletic ability and ability to grab the football over defenders with his great vertical jump. He also has solid speed for his size. Given the depth of receivers in this draft, along with his decline in production in college, he could either go a bit higher in this draft or slide down into the seventh round.
If T.J. Vasher is available and the Patriots still have a seventh-round pick, fans will have nothing to complain about with this late-round pick, even if he doesn’t turn out to be a reliable NFL talent.
But round 5-7 are about taking gambles and Vasher is one Bill Belichick should take.
