No. 2: Jaylen Brown showcases leadership on a young Boston Celtics squad

Yes, the Boston Celtics have veteran leadership in Kemba Walker and Tristan Thompson.

They even have it on different levels with players like Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart.  But Jaylen Brown has really emerged as the face of the Celtics on and off the court.

On the court, it has been his improved play on both sides of the court.  Off the court, he not only shows maturity, but he is also actively involved in social justice which makes him one of the more respected individuals in the NBA.

Where the under-appreciation comes in is the impact he has on his own team.

When it comes to the current face of the Boston Celtics, Brown does share the spotlight with Tatum, although Tatum gets much more of the shine.

In Brown, the Celtics have a rising star, who showcases his leadership on the court and through his experience with the team through the first five seasons of his NBA career, he has really learned what it takes to win.  Most importantly, he has embraced being a role model in the local Boston community.  A true leader for sure.

"“I’ve been in Boston for five years, and I’m a Bostonian now in a sense,” Brown said via Zoom back in December.  “It’s a major time of my life I’ve spent in Boston now.  I’m trying to be a part of the solutions and not the problems here and trying to see where I can help out because it takes a community, and I’m trying to be a part of this community.  I’m definitely trying to get more engaged and see where I can help out the most.”"

Now an All-Star, his actions and commitment on and off the court will be even more highlighted.  By embracing that role model role, while being one of the leaders on the team is the spirit of superstardom that will hopefully help lead this team to an NBA title sooner rather than later.
