Other New England Patriots options in 2021 NFL Draft

Another back who may be available a bit later in the draft is Javonte Williams of Noth Carolina. Williams stands 5’10 tall and has the required weight at 220 pounds. He rushed for an amazing 19 TD’s with 1140 yards and a whopping 7.3 yard average for the Tar Heels last season.

He also hauled in 25 passes. He’d be a great addition to New England and if an opportunity to trade up (after securing their future quarterback) arises, they should go for it.

One who might be available still later in the draft is Rhamondre Stevenson of Oklahoma. Stevenson is the type of back the Patriots need and if he’s available in the third or fourth round selecting him (or trading up for him) there is a no-brainer. Listed at 246 pounds, he’d certainly fit the big back bill for New England.

Those are just a couple of options for the Patriots to consider for a big back either in free agency (limited availability) or in the draft where there is much more talent available.

The New England Patriots need to finally replace LeGarrette Blount and what he gave the team in the 2016, Super Bowl-winning season. The time to accomplish this and get back to competitiveness and relevance is this offseason.
