Third, draft a big back who can also run

Your backfield is mediocre, at best, and oft-injured. You need to build this area up. One thing that is absolutely necessary is a big back. Really, big is best. You likely canned Legarrette Blount, maybe after his fumble in the Atlanta Super Bowl.

That was a bad decision and it cost you in the Super Bowl against Philly. But, even worse is, you never replaced him.

Blount scored 18 touchdowns in 2016. Not sure if all your backs since have scored that many (absent maybe James White, who’s really a pass-catching specialist anyway).

They need to be upgraded and a top big back would really fit the bill. It will help immeasurably on third and short and on a goal-line situations. Send Cam in once too often, and, well, the season may go with him. Draft a bull to take on that responsibility. There’ll be no regrets.

So that’s that, three suggestions to strike gold in the draft, a result that has been sorely lacking in the past few (and more years for the New England Patriots). It’s time to show, Bill Belichick, that you are tops as a GM, too.
