New England Patriots: 5 players who will bounce back in 2021 – No.4: Sony Michel

Time is running out for Sony Michel. If he doesn’t perform well this season it’s likely that 2021 will be his last season in New England.

Since performing well in the Patriots last Super Bowl, Michel has been a massive disappointment. He has failed to rack up yards at an appropriate rate and will have to earn the starting job back from Damien Harris who performed well in 2020.

Last season Michel saw a reduced role as he only played in nine games and tallied 449 yards and a touchdown. That type of production from a former first-round pick proves why fans are so worried about the future. Bill Belichick simply can’t draft.

In 2021, Michel needs to rack up yards even though he will be on the field for fewer snaps. He needs to make the most of every snap he gets.

Michel also needs to be better in the red zone. At times there might as well be a force field around the end zone.

So Michel should perform much better in 2021 because if he doesn’t he will be one of the biggest busts in recent Patriots history.
