New England Patriots: 5 players who will bounce back in 2021 – No.2: Stephon Gilmore

Patriots fans don’t even know if Stephon Gilmore will be on the roster in 2021. If New England wants to move up in the NFL Draft in order to select their QB of the future, they would likely have to give up the corner.

But for the sake of this argument (and honestly this is a very likely scenario due to the cost of moving up in the draft) let’s say that Gilmore is on the roster for the upcoming season.

Gilmore wasn’t exactly a dominant corner last season. After having a career-high six interceptions, Gilmore only had one in 2020. Also, Gilmore was called for way more pass interferences compared to prior seasons.

If Gilmore wants to get one last payday, he will need to have a good season in 2021. If he doesn’t, teams will think that he is an over-the-hill corner and Gilly will be forced to come back to New England.

So expect Gilmore to play much better in 2021 because if he doesn’t, it will cost him a lot of money.
