Boston Celtics continue to toy with fans’ emotions
Boston Celtics: Upcoming games
Eight games remain on the schedule for the Celtics. All have great importance as Boston looks to maintain a top-six seed in the Eastern Conference.
Boston (34-30) currently holds that sixth seed, 1.5 games behind the New York Knicks for fourth, with the Miami Heat holding down the 7th seed with the same record as Boston.
The upcoming week hopes to provide some rest for the Celtics, with Boston scheduled for only three games.
The Portland Trail Blazers come to Boston on Sunday. Portland is fighting to avoid the play-in round over in the Western Conference. It was only back on April 13 in which the Celtics defeated Portland by one-point.
Next up are two road games. The first is in Orlando on May 5. Boston is 2-0 this season against the Magic, who have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Closing out the week is a road game at the Chicago Bulls on May 7. Boston suffered a six-point loss to the Bulls on April 19 after defeating them earlier this season. The Bulls are still hanging around the playoff scene, currently three games back of the 10th spot.
A perfect week in the win column is of vital importance to Boston. The latter two games should be no problem, but as witnessed this season, the Celtics are excellent at doing opposite what is expected of them. Pleading for consistency has been a mark of fans all season long. It’s time for Boston to repay that with a bit more stability. Or, in other words, hold fans’ emotions steady by winning, and winning in style.
