The New England Patriots defense could be top-five

The defense of the New England Patriots could be near the top of the NFL with its additions. It’s significantly improved, to say the least.

Dont’a Hightower is back. The terrific Kyle Van Noy, is back, and well-motivated. And, amazingly, The Force, Matt Judon, and his sacks have arrived from Baltimore.

Chase Winovich will be around and so will Josh Uche. These are two young edge players who should be ready to break out in 2021. Rookie Ronnie Perkins may deliver on the edge, as well.

The defensive line is also much improved in adding veterans Davon Godchaux, Henry Anderson, and Montravius Adams.

They also drafted a possible monster rookie draft pick, Christian Barmore from Alabama. He patterns his game after Reggie White the all-time NFL great. Oh, if he is just half as good …

And, to round things out, the defensive backfield should be just as good or better than in 2019 with a healthy Stephon Gilmore, ballhawk J.C. Jackson, second-year slugger, Kyle Dugger, etc.

In short, New England is loaded with talent on all three levels of the defense. Will they overtake the Buffalo BIlls? Who knows? Maybe not this season. But don’t count it out.

Next. New England Patriots: 1 realistic goal for each rookie in 2021. dark

The New England Patriots are back and they are far better than in 2020. They won seven games last season with nowhere near the talent level they have now.

They’re loaded with former and new talent and are coming to beat a team near you. Don’t sleep on this, NFL fans. If you do and you’re not a Patriots person, it could very well be a 2021 nightmare.
