Third, New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones showed he could be destined for greatness

Take the entire body of work in totality, and only one conclusion can be reached; that is that Mac Jones could be a mega-star in the NFL. That’s the third thing his performance last week showed.

This could come this season or next, whenever he’s the starting quarterback. And this means no disrespect to Cam Newton. His performance last season was a masterclass of its own.

He carried the team on his back, he played ill, he did everything he could to bring that pitifully constructed team into the playoffs. And he darn near did. He does deserve loyalty and RESPECT.

That’s been addressed elsewhere, we’re talking about Mac Jones here. And the story could be a terrific one for New England Patriots fans.

As has been written here before, there are going to be lots of teams who selected in the top 14 picks of this year’s draft who will have extreme buyer’s remorse for passing on Jones.

He’s on the way and he will carve up opposing defenses like Thanksgiving turkeys. He has the poise, the fearlessness, the determination, the talent, and the leadership ability to excel.

The young man has just about everything he needs to be a great NFL quarterback. The thing that it’s said he doesn’t is foot speed.

Really? In not so great shape, he reportedly ran 4.68 and 4.72 forty-yard dashes at one of his pro-days. That’s not bad at all. Keep in mind, he almost legged out a first down against the WFT.

I’ll predict this; when he’s in Patriots’ football shape this season or next, watch out. He’ll be running with authority, as well. And, you can take that, to the bank.

So that’s the analysis of the three things that Mac Jones told us with his performance against Washington. Agree? Disagree? Either way, we’d like to hear your comments.
