As usual, it has been a busy week for New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.  Headlined by a couple of trades involving former first round pick Sony Michel and the acquisition of 2021 fifth-round pick Shaun Wade, the coach is in his usual form prior to an NFL season.

While Belichick has scored high grades for both trades, the obvious question and answer that is on everyone’s mind is what he will do at the quarterback position.

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has some big roster move decisions

With the final preseason game against the New York Giants on the horizon, the Cam Newton vs Mac Jones quarterback battle is going down the wire.  In classic Belichick fashion, he isn’t giving anything away as to which way he may be leaning. He will go with the person he believes put his team in the best position to win.

But, has the “In Bill We Trust” balloon been deflated when it comes to the view of Patriots fans.  The man has won six Super Bowls making unpopular roster moves, but a 7-9 season and failed drafts has fans and critics second guessing the future Hall-of-Fame coach.

He also has a 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year in Stephon Gilmore pending a contract extension.

In all, there is no question he’ll be second guessed for some roster moves following the final game of the pre-season and not just at the quarterback position.

In analyzing what the Patriots head coach said this past week, let’s start with the quarterback battle starting with the rookie.
