Boston Celtics early NBA Trade Deadline targets: Kyle Anderson

Like Davis Bertans, don’t be surprised if the Boston Celtics revisit another name they have been linked to over the past few months.

More from Celtics Rumors

Before making the deal for Josh Richardson, the Celtics reportedly had interest in trading for Memphis Grizzlies forward Kyle Anderson.  At the time the Richardson deal put a damper on any hopes of adding Anderson from a salary cap standpoint, but the $17.1 million trade exception certainly opens that possibility back up.

Anderson, who averaged 12.4 points with 5.7 rebounds last season, is on the final year of his contract worth $9.9 million.  That would allow Brad Stevens to make a deal at or prior to the trade deadline and have room for another deal.

In Anderson, they would get another versatile player who could provide some outside scoring off the bench.  The 30th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Anderson is coming off a career year with a Memphis Grizzlies team that is on the rise.

At 6-foot-9, the UCLA product would give the Celtics some added size and versatility as would the two players named prior.  Out of the three players named here, Kyle Anderson seems to be the player the team has the most interested in and will certainly watch as the season goes along.  That’s if Brad Stevens doesn’t make a move way before then.
