The New England Patriots three most dynamic playmakers on offense in 2021 is another prediction piece that may not be easy to whittle down. But let’s take a look and select three.

Since the offensive line is not generally considered “playmakers”, although that could certainly be debated, let’s look at the offensive playmakers as the so-called “skill players” and go from there.

So skill players would include the positions of quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight ends. If my math serves me, that would leave one position grouping out. So be it.

It’s going to be necessary to make some tough choices here since this team could be headed places, good places in 2021. So, let’s start with the obvious.

Look, not mentioning Mac Jones, the starting quarterback, the most important position on the team and on any team sport, would be ludicrous. Agreed. He’s been highly regarded of late.

Not mentioning Jones after you have predicated he’d beat Tom Brady on October 3rd and win a Super Bowl in his rookie season … well, that would be even worse.

The New England Patriots first most dynamic playmaker in 2021 will be … Mac Jones

This green as grass young player has just helped send an NFL icon, a former NFL MVP, and a still very good veteran NFL quarterback in his second season with the team, Cam Newton, out the door.

Let’s just say this; if Mac Jones isn’t one of the three most dynamic playmakers on the New England Patriots in 2021, then the season won’t amount to very much at all.

His team, their season, maybe Mac himself, and certainly the predictive credibility of this column are toast! Indubitably! So let’s just say, he will be dynamic and move on.

A lot has been written in this space so this will be pretty brief with some links to previous thoughts on Jones. But, to put it bluntly, this kid is good. Really good. Sick good.

Mac Jones fits the New England Patriots like kid gloves. He is ready-made to start in Foxborough and win.

No less a player than Drew Brees, one of the most accurate quarterbacks of his era, has lauded Mac Jones and his NFL readiness.

This will be brief but Jones had a masterful rookie preseason. He “only” completed a measly 69.2 percent of his passes. Additionally, he beat out Cam Newton for the starting job.

And he won over the two top offensive people on the New England Patriots coaching staff, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and The Boss, head coach plus, Bill Belichick.

That last achievement is no easy feat considering Belichick had never drafted a quarterback in the first round, and he certainly hadn’t promoted one to start the first game of a season. Ever.

Enough said. I’m all in on Mac Jones and he will definitely be one of the New England Patriots’ (and the NFL’s) most dynamic players in 2021.
