By now, the New England Patriots have most likely closed the book on their Week 1 loss at the hands of the Miami Dolphins, and have begun preparations for their upcoming game against the New York Jets. After a tough loss to open the season against Miami, the Patriots should be looking forward to what should be an easier opponent in the Jets.

It’s not as if the Jets are going to roll over and die, but their roster features significantly less talent than that of the Dolphins. Similar to New England, the Jets are led by a rookie quarterback, with that quarterback being the 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson. While Wilson had a solid regular season debut, the Jets never really threatened to beat the Carolina Panthers in their Week 1 matchup.

The Patriots on the other hand had a few big issues in their game against Miami that ended up coming back to haunt them, but they generally controlled the action in their season opener. That’s why it was such a tough pill to swallow to watch them fumble away the game, both literally and figuratively.

There were some notable developments during the Pats Week 1 action that should be followed closely as the week progresses. Whether it be injuries, a shake up on the depth chart, or anything in between, you can expect the coaches and players will be focused on making sure they don’t start off their season 0-2. Here are three Patriots storylines from Week 1 that you should keep an eye on throughout the week.
