No. 1: New England Patriots pass rusher Matt Judon has to bring the edge

Matt Judon had a good and fairly productive game for the Patriots against the Dolphins. New England needs even more from him weekly and he’ll need to begin to deliver this Sunday.

The Patriots need a monster sack game. They had two against Miami, they could use a quartet against Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson.

Judon needs to get his first two maybe then.

Too much is made of quarterback pressures. Forget them. Any NFL QB worth his salt will still complete passes when under pressure. They won’t if they’re on the turf though.

Judon has to set the tone and complete these plays with sacks, and there will be no better time than Sunday. He is the key to the defense.

A win then could get the Patriots in a tie for first place, a place they belong, if the Buffalo Bills beat Miami on Sunday. It’s time for Judon to get fully untracked and get on the sack board early and often.

Next. Week 2 roadmap to the New York Jets. dark

So these are three New England Patriots players who could be keys to a win against the Jets Sunday. Who do you think are the key players? We’d like to hear your thoughts.
