While the New England Patriots are riding a three-game winning steak and back in the mix for a playoff spot, the biggest story or rumor surrounding the team is the potential signing of three-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
Talk about hot rumors, after Beckham Jr. cleared waivers on Tuesday, the Twitter universe instantly went into OBJ overdrive as fans of teams rumored in the mix for the services of the 29-year-old receiver clamored to every blue check marked tweet about the disgruntled star.
Will it be the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints or New England Patriots?
The New England Patriots are in the mix for Odell Beckham Jr.
Given this is Beckham’s first opportunity to pick the team he goes to, he will want it to be the best situation for him to revitalize his career, which certainly puts the Patriots on the top of that list given his admiration for Bill Belichick and the success players like Randy Moss and Aqib Talib had playing in New England.

With the team’s need for a No. 1 receiver and Beckham looking to play for a contending team with a quality coach and veteran quarterback, the Patriots almost check off every box the veteran wide receiver is looking for. If Tom Brady was still the quarterback, OBJ to New England would be guaranteed, but can the legend of Belichick outweigh a team like Seattle who has Russell Wilson returning?

Now, this is where things get crazy or interesting if you are a Patriots fan. While the interest is there, are the Patriots really at the top of OBJ’s wish list? Is he close to signing or are Patriots fans in for a big disappointment come Wednesday?

Obviously, the Packers with Aaron Rodgers gives Odell Beckham Jr the best chance to reach the Super Bowl this season, but the Packers don’t appear interested as they have DeVante Adams and Randall Cobb as Rodgers’ trusted targets. But, if appears if they show interest, Beckham Jr would favor them over playing for Belichick…so we think.
So, as the wait continues to find out the next destination of OBJ, Patriots’ twitter is anticipating to big news coming their way on the week the team prepares to take on Beckham Jr’s old team, the Cleveland Browns.
