New England Patriots: 3 offensive threats to watch in MNF battle vs Bills
1. New England Patriots running back duo Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson
Speaking of the run game, the Bills’ defense may be so great against the pass because opposing teams spend much of their time running the ball.
With what Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts did to the Bills run defense a couple of weeks ago, it is hard not to pick either Damien Harris or Rhamondre Stevenson as a player to watch in this Monday night showdown.
Both are physical running backs who can break tackles, but Harris is the back with the experience, and he will set the tone early for the Patriots running attack. But don’t worry, Stevenson will make his presence known as well as both backs will take advantage of running behind the massive Trent Brown who considers the Patriots two-headed monster at running back one of the better 1-2 forces in the league.
"“It’s one of the better 1-2 punches in the league,” Brown said, via ESPN. Both of those guys run tough, run hard. And they make us look good up front.”"
While both Harris and Stevenson had a tough time getting going in the team’s 36-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans but ended the game with power runs over and through Titan defenders. With the Patriots averaging 115.3 rushing yards a game, riding the back of this powerful duo in what predicts to be inclement weather is advantage New England Patriots.
