The New England Patriots are set for a pivotal matchup against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday Night Football this week. The Patriots currently hold the top seed in the AFC heading into the action, and a win over the Colts would also go a long way in helping the Pats wrap up the AFC East. The Colts on the other hand are surging back into contention, and they will be looking to keep themselves afloat in the AFC Wild Card race down the homestretch of the season.

With both the Colts and Patriots seeming like fringe contenders heading into the season, nobody really expected this game to be this important a few months ago. But now, this is one of the most important games of the season for the AFC. Regardless of who wins, this game is going to have huge implications on how the AFC playoff picture looks in a few weeks from now.

Despite just barely holding onto the #7 seed in the AFC currently, the Colts have been surging as of late, and you can make an argument they belong in the top tier of teams in the AFC. They have arguably the most dangerous rushing attack in the league, which is complemented by an extremely opportunistic defense that leads the league in turnovers. This isn’t going to be an easy game for New England.

It’s going to take a full team effort in order for the Patriots to be able to pull out a win here, and it could end up being the difference between earning the top seed in the AFC or falling a few spots down the pecking order. But as always, there are going to be some players that step up more than others. With that being said, let’s take a look at three New England Patriots players that could be set for big games on Saturday night.
