No 4: New England Patriots rookie Christian Barmore a sizable force

Another defensive force looking to rev things up along the defensive line is New England Patriots rookie Christian Barmore.

It may be a lot to ask from a rookie, but the Alabama product must be a presence in the front seven to get the Patriots’ defense back right entering the playoffs, particularly against the run game as possible playoff matchups like the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans have running attacks that could be a nightmare for the Patriots’ defense, especially with Derrick Henry’s titanic return just in time for the playoffs.

Along with creating some pressure up the middle on former Alabama teammate Tagovailoa, Barmore and the interior of that Patriots’ defensive line will be put to the test against the Dolphins who will attempt to run the ball.

This is where Barmore must be eruptive, especially going into the playoffs.

With his size and power, the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder can take up a lot of attention from opposing offensive lineman.  That will open up lines for players like Kyle Van Noy as mentioned previously to make some plays.

In finally recording his first solo NFL sack a week ago, Barmore could be a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks in the playoffs.  But first, he will be looking to squish some fish down in Miami.
