The Boston Celtics figure to be one of the busiest teams in the NBA as the Trade Deadline approaches. They already pulled off one move for Bol Bol and PJ Dozier, and it almost certainly won’t be the last one.

Based on how the Celtics have played so far this season, it’s safe to expect pretty much everyone aside from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to be available. Tatum and Brown haven’t exactly been prone to struggling at times this season, but they have consistently gotten little to no help from their supporting cast as well. With no one else really doing much to help ease the scoring burden for those two, it makes sense that Boston’s record sits at 23-23 this far.

It appears that floundering around in mediocrity for the past year and a half has finally taken it’s tole on the front office. President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens sounds motivated to do what he can to find solutions to the Celtics problems. The problem there is that this team suddenly lacks cap space, draft capital, and the players to pull off a deal that can change their fortunes overnight.

Regardless, Stevens is shopping pretty much everything he has around, making Marcus Smart a prime trade candidate as we inch closer to February 10th. Smart is one of the team’s top assets, and reports have been coming out that teams around the league are looking into making a move for the gritty guard. Here are two potential trades for Smart, starting with a deal that would reunite him with our old friend Danny Ainge.
