Edge rusher Harold Landry would give the New England Patriots a familiar dynamic

Imagine if Bill Belichick pulled another shocking free agency move and signed former Boston College star Harold Landry to pair with Matt Judon off the edge?

This is more of a pipe dream if you are a Patriots fan but seeing how Landry was in the middle of that Tennessee Titans sack attack of Joe Burrow, it is hard not to fantasize about the possibility.

Like both Brown and Evans, Landry is just hitting his prime and it is hard to believe Mike Vrabel would let him get away considering the team’s need at the linebacker position.  Described by Belichick as a “dynamic player,” the Patriots coach will do his due diligence, but he’ll be out of the team’s price range as Spotrac has his projected market value at $17.5 million per year.

Still, it is hard not to envision Judon coming from one side and Landry coming from the other as the two combined for over 26 sacks in 2022.

With Landry’s ties to the New England region, if the money is there, he would give the Patriots high consideration.  While it’s hard to see Belichick splurging here, you also can’t count him out.  A Harold Landry, Matt Judon pairing would give the Patriots their best tandem of edge rushers since the days of Willie McGinest and one Mike Vrabel.

That in itself would be intriguing.
