Over the years, the New England Patriots have made a habit of signing free agent players from teams in the AFC East.

Most times than not, those signings pay off for Bill Belichick and the Patriots as those players end up shining in New England.  On the flip side of that, those AFC East teams also has a tendency of signing former Patriots players which typically add to the rivalries.

With the Buffalo Bills taking over the AFC throne the last couple of years, it would not be surprising at all if Belichick had a few pending free agents already on his radar especially after Josh Allen and the Bills wiped the Patriots off the field in the AFC Wild Card game.

New England Patriots couldn’t keep up with AFC East rivals

While the Patriots did make major strides in 2021 behind rookie quarterback Mac Jones, that game proved how far Belichick’s team still must go as far as building a complete roster.

That 47-17 butt whooping not only exposed the lack of speed on defense, but it also exposed an offense that is not built to get into a track meet with the likes of Allen or some of the other top quarterbacks in the AFC like Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow, especially with the offensive weapons they have.

So, the Patriots must continue to evaluate talent on their own squad as well as other teams to get better and build more depth in some key areas on defense and offense.  Here are three pending Buffalo Bills free agents Belichick should look to target and possibly steal from the new kings of the division.
