Why the New England Patriots should target veteran edge rusher Von Miller

Veteran linebacker Von Miller got another ring, but the 32-year-old edge rusher still appears to be as hungry as ever and a few NFL teams will be hungry for his services.

In proving he can still dominate on defense; Miller is at the top of the free agent list when it comes to edge rushers.  While a reunion with Chandler Jones would be great for the New England Patriots, just imagine Belichick coaching a player like Miller for a season?

Yes, the team is looking to get younger, but if Miller is affordable and willing to come to New England for the right price, it would be crazy for Belichick not to explore the idea of Matt Judon coming off the edge on one side and Von Miller the other side.

Opposing quarterbacks beware!

As far as Miller possibly joining Belichick, the two have complimented one another in the past with admiration.  Here is what Miller had to say about the Patriots head coach in a Players’ Tribune article back in 2019 titled “The 5 Toughest Guys I’ve Ever Faced.”

"“With Belichick,” Miller wrote.  “His genius comes from the fact that he always game plans based on the personnel he has.  He’s had Hall of Famers like Randy Moss, and he’s also had guys who you never heard of before, and no matter what, the Patriots are always contenders. “Some of the packages we see from the Patriots, I’ve never seen before on a football field.”"

Now imagine what Belichick could do with a future Hall of Famer like Von Miller.
