Why the New England Patriots should target wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Before a torn ACL limited his performance in Super Bowl LVI, Odell Beckham Jr. was on his way to having a big game and really setting his market going into the free agency.

Not only would he be a Super Bowl champion, but he also showed teams he can still be THAT receiver. But now that he will be recovering from that torn ACL, teams will obviously shy away from him, including the New England Patriots who have been tied to the LSU product every time he is mentioned in trade rumors.

Although Beckham Jr. has voiced his desire to return to the Rams, perhaps Belichick should still kick the tires on the wide receiver in free agency as a player they can use near the middle of the season, if it’s at a cheaper deal.

Of course, this will all depend on what the team does in free agency and the 2022 NFL Draft, but even if Belichick does bring in some top-level talent at the wide receiver position, why not give Patriots fans what they want in finally seeing what Odell Beckham Jr can do in New England.

Mac Jones would certainly not object to the team surrounding him with as much good to elite talent as possible.
