3 bargain free agents the New England Patriots, Belichick must sign now
The New England Patriots approach in 2022 NFL free agency has been unsatisfactory to say the least, but there are still some players out there who could help improve the team in a major way.
While just about every AFC team have made major moves this offseason, Bill Belichick has been almost too quiet. After spending big last offseason, it’s not exactly shocking that the Patriots haven’t made a similar splash, but it is not like the team to be this quiet.
Is it money or is it that players are choosing other teams over the Patriots?
With all the recruitment Matt Judon has been doing on Twitter, it appears it’s a combination of both. At this stage in free agency, the Patriots want players at their price, and unlike fans who want to see things start happening, the team is being patient which might just pay off.

During an appearance on the NFL Network Thursday, longtime New England Patriots executive Scott Pioli outlined that approach.
"“The first wave of free agency has ended,” Pioli said, as transcribed by WEEI. “We’re now into this second wave. In this second wave, there’s a new free agency, because once players are signed, [other] players get cut. So now there are even more players [available]. After the draft, there will be more players cut. After the 53-man cut, there will be more players available in free agency. So building a football team and building a roster is something that takes a lot of work, a lot of time, and a lot of patience.”"
As frustrating as that approach may be for Patriots fans who see major holes on the team like the offensive line, wide receiver and the secondary, it is Belichick being Belichick. So, while every other team has been greedy, the Patriots are there to pick up all the crumbs in hopes something big slips off that free agency table.
Speaking of that free agency table, there are some interesting names still out there. Here are 3 splashes signing the Patriots could still make in free agency.
