It’s officially playoff time for the Boston Celtics. Winners of the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference, the Celtics had to wait for the NBA’s Play-In Tournament to play out before finding out their opponent. When all was said and done, the C’s quickly found out they would be playing the Brooklyn Nets in the first round.

The Celtics/Nets showdown is the most compelling first round matchup in recent memory. Rarely do you get two of the best teams in the entire league meeting up in the first round, but that’s exactly what has happened here. With so many intriguing storylines surrounding these teams and the series in general, these two squads are going to go to war with each other over the next week or two.

Public opinion is divided on who the winner of this series will be. Many have given the Celtics props for their second half run, but with Robert Williams set to miss the series, that may give Brooklyn the leg up it needs to pull out a win. Plus, with the potential return of Ben Simmons, the Nets may be at full health for the first time all season long.

Whichever team moves on is going to earn their victory the hard way. With so much up in the air though, it’s going to be tough to truly get a feel for how the series is going to play out until the teams take the court. With just one more sleep in between Boston and playoff basketball, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the Celtics in their first round playoff matchup, including a final prediction of who will come out on top in this series.
