Difference #1: The Boston Celtics have a HEALTHY Jaylen Brown

The Celtics did not have Jaylen Brown for the postseason last season. You may remember that Brown tore a ligament in his wrist that would end up cutting his season short. This was a crucial blow to a Celtics team that was depending on its young stars to develop and take them to the promised land. Without Brown, that became virtually impossible to accomplish.

Think about it. Where could the Celtics go last year when Jayson Tatum was off? Kemba Walker if he was healthy? Maybe! Evan Fournier? He was a dud for the half season he played with the Celtics? Romeo Langford? He was still coming off of injuries himself. Point is, there was nobody else to help Tatum once Brown went down.

Brown is now healthy and ready to go. He’s looked like the best player on the floor in the fourth quarter in each of the first two playoff games. That’s big for a Celtics team looking to take the next step forward.

Sure, they have other nice pieces in Marcus Smart, Robert Williams (who is currently missing time with an injury himself), and Al Horford just to name a few. But Brown is the 1b piece to Tatum’s 1a for this Boston team. Don’t get it twisted Celtics fans; a healthy Jaylen Brown is very important to this Celtics team too.
