How does it feel to be the older brother but less talented? A year after Evan Mobley went third overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers and was a unanimous selection to the NBA All-Rookie first team, Isaiah Mobley could go undrafted.

The Boston Celtics have a few reasons to prevent that from happening.

The lesser Mobley doesn’t possess Evan’s athletic ability, but he developed an all-around game that would help Boston in multiple ways and carve a role in the rotation.

Start with Isaiah being a solid scorer inside and out. He’s savvy in the post with twists and turns to find open air, plus a short jump hook. He’s very comfortable with a dribble drive to either finish at the rim or stop and pop a mid-range J. And if he’s left all alone behind the arc, Mobley connects on .352 percent of his threes.

At 6-10, Mobley is a confident ball handler able to bring the ball up court after securing the rebound. And if he’s playing point-forward, Mobley has the court vision to find teammates for open shots.

To top it all off, Mobley gives a good effort on defense, though he would be better defensively if he was a better athlete. He will be in the right position, but he won’t block many shots and could be targeted by opponents.

If Isaiah was little more like Evan athletically, Isaiah would be a lock to have his name called on draft night. The basketball IQ is there and the ability to stretch the floor fits in today’s NBA. He’s worth considering for the Boston Celtics since Daniel Theis isn’t always a good option and Al Horford isn’t getting any younger.
