Malcolm Brogdon pumps up Boston Celtics twitter with two words
Did the Boston Celtics pull off a heist in Day 2 of NBA Free Agency?
Well Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens has his name already on the ballot for NBA Executive of the Year by pulling off a trade with the Indiana Pacers that landed the 2021-22 Eastern Conference Champions one Malcolm Brogdon.
Yes, the same Brogdon who averages close to 20 points a game, but also the same Brogdon who has issues with durability. Along with a big contract the Pacers wanted to clear from their books, injury concerns are what made Brogdon available at a cheap price when it comes to the Celtics.
Malcolm Brogdon hypes up Boston Celtics Twitter in the best way possible
In sending Aaron Nesmith, Daniel Theis and a first-round pick to the Pacers, Stevens added to the Celtics depth and brought in a point guard who has one thing on his mind after the trade and that is helping a team who were two games away from an NBA title win Banner 18.
In fact, the veteran guard won Celtics Twitter with just these two words following the trade:

While durability will be in question, there is no doubt that when Brogdon is healthy, he is a reliable scorer who makes the Boston Celtics offense better. Not only does he take some of the pressure off Marcus Smart at the point guard position, but he also becomes a reliable scoring option next to Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
Brogdon also adds more veteran presence to a team that faltered down the stretch in Game 4 and Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Especially in Game 4 when the team couldn’t hit a basket in the last five minutes of the game, a player like Brogdon would’ve made that much of a difference both as a scorer and a playmaker.

So, does the addition put the Celtics over the top?
The move not only pumped up Celtics fans, but nationally, “First Take” co-host and self-proclaimed basketball genius Stephen A. Smith added more hype to the transaction in the following tweet:
You are spot on Stephen A. The Boston Celtics aren’t going away and they have an executive in Brad Stevens who is proving that he is not afraid to make moves and go out and get players he feels will help the team win now.
No, championships aren’t won in July as is proven year after year but adding a proven scorer to the motivation of Tatum and Brown makes the 2022-23 NBA season an interesting one and a season in which the Celtics should be right back on the cusp of a championship. That is, as long as they grow from what went wrong in the 2021-22 NBA Finals.
