Could the Boston Celtics add Jordan Clarkson with TPE?

If the Utah Jazz are heading into a rebuilding phrase, why not call old friend Danny Ainge for Jordan Clarkson.

This is not an immediate need for the Boston Celtics but Clarkson, who averaged 16.0 points off the bench for the Jazz in 2021 would give the team even more punch off the bench to go along with Malcolm Brogdon.

With the way we know Ainge likes to hoard draft picks, that would probably be the price for Clarkson along with a player they would have to send back in return.  One would think the former Celtics president of basketball operations would ask for a player he drafted in return, likely Payton Prichard which would benefit the young guard.

In obtaining Brogdon to go along with Marcus Smart and Derrick White, Pritchard appears to be the odd man out.  Though Clarkson would provide more of a jam in the backcourt due to his explosive scoring, obtaining him could make White more expendable.

Any chance of using the TPE for Clarkson will depend on whether the team is willing to decline a little defensively to get that much more explosive on the offensive end.  As the NBA Finals proved, defense does win championships if a team can score down the stretch.

Stevens and the Boston Celtics must consider any opportunity they may have to add scoring off the bench.

Jordan Clarkson is an intriguing one.
