Boston Bruins fans all over New England were busy finishing up their work days, getting ready to head home for the afternoon as they were abruptly interrupted by the signing of not only their hometown team captain, Patrice Bergeron, but also another hometown favorite who many fans and players across the league respect, David Krejci.

While many, including myself, knew that there was speculation of Krejci coming back to play in Black and Gold due to the teaser videos posted by David Pastrnak while the two were playing for their native country, the Czech Republic, fans were still shocked to hear of the news.

After the news of the Boston Bruin’s head coach, Bruce Cassidy, leaving the dirty water and shipping out west to Vegas, it was hard to tell where the Bruins were going to end up. After firing a head coach who brought the Bruin’s organization to the playoffs six out of the six years he ran this team, many fans were left scratching their heads, wondering what Don Sweeney and the rest of the Bruin’s operations were doing.

While fans may think that the return of Krejci is in relation to Bruce Cassidy, Krejci himself claims that it had nothing to do with anything involving the coaching staff; instead, it was his connection with Pastrnak on the ice that made him feel like he never took off a Bruins jersey, to begin with.

So what does this mean for the big bad Boston Bruins?

So what does this mean for the bruins? Why is it essential to the game of hockey, some people may ask? This allows the Bruins to create what we love to call ‘The Perfection Line’ not once but twice within the 12 men that dress for every game; Bergeron, Marchand, and Debrusk as a line, and Krejci, Hall, and Pastrnak as the other.

Now obviously, everything is up in the air with Bergeron returning from elbow surgery, other players dealing with minor injuries, and new coaching with a new system being put in place.

However, I believe that now with both fans and players excited to see what is to come this season that our ‘Big Bad Bruins’ will be able to pull themselves further into the playoffs beyond the first round.
