The New England Patriots will meet “Da Bears” in primetime Monday night in what is expected to be a rainy night.

Let’s start with a ridiculous and irrelevant statistic that clearly doesn’t matter. Bill Belichick coached teams have won over 80 percent of their games in rain and snow.

Belichick famously said last year, “Whatever it is it is. I can’t control that. It looks like the field will be wet. If it rains, it rains. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t,” That wraps up the mindset of the Patriots and their head coach.

The team is going to show up and play the team that shows up across the field from them; that happens to be a pathetic Bears team this week.

The Bears come in having lost three straight including a loss to the dismal Washington Commanders last Thursday. They’ve had plenty of time to prepare for the Patriots, and each of their last three games have been close. Frankly, this should not matter in the least bit for the Patriots.

New England Patriots will lean on Rhamondre Stevenson and the ground attack

With the poor weather moving in this should benefit an already dominant running game for the Pats. Rhamondre Stevenson has been nothing short of magnificent the past four games, and I would not expect that to stop now.

The return of Damien Harris should also help the patriots in dominating on the ground. Couple these things with the Bears allowing the most rushing yards in the NFL, and we should be in for another 200 yard rushing performance.

The talk of the town is obviously the return of Mac Jones after his absolutely gruesome injury. It had to be in the top three of worst injuries of all time… Mac is back, and he is ready to sling his muffins all around Gillette for the world to see during primetime. He will have to overcome a really good bears pass defense. They allow quite

a few yards, but at the same time they are stingy when it comes to allowing points. They epitomize that bend but don’t break mentality. Mac should still have a great game with the reemergence of Hunter Henry and a healthy Jakobi Meyers running all over the field wide open.

I guess I will touch on the defense as well. Frankly, I believe the Patriots will have Justin Fields seeing ghosts all night. He has not faced a defense of the Pats caliber. My only fear is the N’Keal Harry revenge game. I think we all know he is going to have an unbelievable touchdown at some point in this game. It is inevitable and that is fine. I will sit in my seat in section 204 and have a good ole chuckle.

At the end of the day the New England Patriots should dominate this game in all three phases.
