Underclassman notables for Boston College Eagles offense

The skill positions on offense had the most experience heading into this season for Boston College. And while it’s the veterans who have primarily accumulated stats, there are notable underclassmen worth mentioning.

Freshman Alex Broome had a 9-carry, 83-yard, and 1 touchdown game in the victory over Louisville. Broome has been banged up the last few games, so playing time has been limited. On the season, he has 137 rushing yards and is averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

Sophomore wide receiver Jaden Williams had at least one reception in five of the team’s first six games. Williams has 11 catches for 170 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 15.5 yards per reception. However, he has not played the last two games.

Life on the field hasn’t gone exactly as planned for Boston College in 2022. And while it’s not too late to give up completely on a successful close to the season, there hasn’t been much indication that a drastic and sudden improvement is on the way. And if it does happen, underclassmen are bound to play a large part in a turnaround, either this season or, at the very least, in 2023.
