The New England Patriots fell to the Buffalo Bills last night by a 24-10 score. But it wasn’t as much the final score, as it was the reasoning behind the score that Pats fans were complaining.

We all know that the Patriots offense has had its struggles this season. But after the game last night, some of the Patriots offensive players couldn’t hide their frustration any longer.

That frustration? It was tailored toward the way that the Patriots offense runs. And who can Patriots fans blame a majority of that on? De-facto offensive coordinator Matt Patricia!

So now, the Patriots offensive players are getting frustrated and letting “Matty P” hear it. Honestly, I’m surprised they lasted this long!

Mac Jones passionate words about the New England Patriots offense

So we’ve all seen the video by now making its way around the internet. Mac Jones visibly showed his frustration with the way the offense was being called.

There are certain ways that Mac’s message could’ve been interpreted. He could’ve been talking about the “short game”, referring to the Pats habit of throwing quick passes quite frequently. There were also some people who thought Jones was mentioning to run the ball more.

Whatever the case is, it’s clear Mac Jones is sick of what’s going on with Matt Patricia’s offensive play-calling. Honestly, can we really blame him at this point?

Kendrick Bourne being blunt about the New England Patriots offense

This quote from Kendrick Bourne was something that I’ve been paying close attention to ever since it got out.

It’s no secret that Kendrick Bourne is unhappy about the way things have gone this year. Specifically with his role with this Patriots offense!

Last season, Kendrick Bourne was a favorite target of Mac Jones. Bourne had some big games and moments for the Patriots in 2021. The Cowboys 75 yard touchdown reception, the Titans game, and Browns game are just a few high moments for Bourne last season.

This season? 19 receptions for 226 yards total. The Patriots have played 12 games this season. So quick Math, Bourne is averaging a catch or two every game.

So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Bourne is being bluntly honest about the Patriots offensive struggles. Honestly, I commend him for being that open and honest.

He isn’t playing as much, so why hold in everything? The wide receiver is saying what needs to be said and I commend him for that!

The bottom line with the Patriots offensive players and Matt Patricia

This experiment hasn’t worked, will not work, and was doomed to fail from the start. Why Bill Belichick thought this would work is astonishing to me!

Next. Don't hate Mac Jones, embrace him!. dark

If the Pats are serious about contending again in the AFC, they need to find a REAL offensive coordinator.

But if they want to continue to model what they did in the early 2000’s, when the game has clearly gone in an offensive-minded direction; then keep doing what you’re doing.

Then you’ll end up with a broken quarterback, more disgruntled players, and a potential mutiny between players and coaches.

Do the right thing here, please? End the Matt Patricia OC experiment!
