Patriots LB Matthew Judon deserves all the Pro-Bowl recognition
The New England Patriots head into a crucial week 16 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, needing a win to keep their playoff chances alive. But before they play against the Bengals, they can celebrate the Pro-Bowl nod of linebacker Matthew Judon.
This is Judon’s fourth straight Pro-Bowl selection, and second straight with the Patriots. The middle linebacker from Grambling State is in the midst of his best season, registering 14.5 sacks in 14 games so far this season.
Matthew Judon has been a defensive beast in 2022 for the New England Patriots
There’s no mistake about it. Matthew Judon has been an integral part of the Patriots defensive success in 2022. Like I mentioned above, Judon has 14.5 sacks on the season. That’s good for 2nd in the NFL, behind San Francisco’s Nick Bosa.
One thing about Judon is that he doesn’t even need to be sacking the quarterback in order to be productive.
The other wonderful thing about the Patriots Pro-bowl linebacker is that he can draw double teams and allow for other linebackers and defensive ends to put pressure on opposing offenses.
But it isn’t just the sacks. It’s the ability to stop the running game. You see Judon deflecting passes, tackling receivers and running back for losses in the screen game. The man can do just about anything on a football field.

It’s great that Matthew Judon has excelled in the New England Patriot defensive system for the last two seasons.
But let’s address what needs to be said right now, Matthew Judon should be in a New England Patriot for life.

The way that Matthew Judon conducts himself is perfect. He’s charismatic, charming, and quick to crack a joke. But at the same time, he’s a guy that gets what the Patriots do on a day-to-day basis. He’s a guy that knows when it’s time to work and get down to the nitty gritty.
Plus, do you see his interactions with fans across the NFL? He’s one of the most lovable players in the NFL. Playing catch with little kids, interacting with kids, that’s what it’s all about! So why not keep a good guy like that around, when he produces at the level that he currently is at?
The bottom line with Matthew Judon and the New England Patriots
It’s great see the recognition that Matthew Judon is getting for another great season in New England. Now the Patriots just need to make the playoffs and start giving Judon a legitimate chance to win a Lombardi trophy.

I would’ve loved to see Judon get to 20 sacks in a season. He needs three big games in order to do so, but right now; the odds are against him. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that Judon is indeed a Pro-bowl type of player.
It’s great to see Matthew Judon get the love and respect he deserves from his NFL peers. Now we need to see the Pro-bowl linebacker show up in the three biggest games of the season coming up for the Patriots.
