Patriots legendary QB Tom Brady is not returning (for any team)

Former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady took to his social media accounts with a video announcing his retirement from the NFL, putting an end to the most remarkable career in league history. Brady had briefly retired before the 2022 season before announcing his return shortly after.

Heading into the 2023 off-season, there was much speculation on Brady’s future. What would he do? Would he retire or go to another team? Well, the questions have been answered; at 45 years old, Tom Brady is hanging up his cleats and retiring, this time, for real.

In his message, Brady stated he was thankful to his family, friends, teammates, competitors, and fans for supporting him throughout his career.

Brady, who the New England Patriots drafted with the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL draft, went on to achieve success far beyond anyone’s expectations.

Brady spent 20 years with the New England Patriots, leading them to 17 division titles, 13 AFC Championship games, nine Super Bowl appearances, and six Super Bowl Championships. When Brady left the Patriots in 2020, he signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and led them to a Super Bowl win in his first season. He holds the record for the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history with 7, more than any other player and team.

It has been said that Brady, a bonafide first-ballot Hall of Famer, had three separate hall-of-fame careers in his single career. Brady is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2028.
