1. New England Patriots linebacker targets: Tremaine Edmunds

Will the Buffalo Bills re-sign young linebacker Tremaine Edmunds or veteran safety Jordan Poyer?

The Patriots AFC East rival will be faced with that decision as free agency begins.  If there is any hesitancy to for the Bills to lean towards Edmunds, Bill Belichick should be right there to pluck the 24-year-old linebacker right from under the clutches of the Bills.

With 102 combined tackles in 2022, Edmunds has the size and athleticism to bring the Patriots linebacker core to another level, especially playing alongside Ja’Whaun Bentley in the middle.  That would give the Patriots the best middle linebacker duo since Jerod Mayo and Tedy Bruschi.

Furthermore, it would give Belichick some inside knowledge of how to defend Josh Allen who Edmunds has gone up against in practice.  So, would the New England Patriots show Edmunds the money?

History has shown Belichick is willing to spend some money at the linebacker position.  Plucking another player from an AFC East rival would be icing on the cake, especially with Edmunds having yet to really reach his full potential.  Under Belichick, that opportunity would be right there in front of him…if the two sides have mutual interest.
