The Boston Bruins won against the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 on Thursday night. They won their previous four games including the last game against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night.

The Canadiens won against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night 3-2 after two straight losses against the Carolina Panthers and Lightning. The Canadiens are last in the Atlantic Division with 62 points in the season.

The Bruins won their 1st matchup of the year against the Canadiens 4-2 on January 24. The Bruins have now won nine straight games against the Canadiens sweeping them all last season and winning the last three games in the 2019-20 season.

The Bruins would’ve had the chance to clinch the Atlantic Division Thursday night with a win and a Toronto Maple Leafs regulation loss against the Florida Panthers. However, the Maple Leafs routed the Panthers 6-2, so the Bruins will have to wait a bit longer to win the division.

Pasta scores career-high 49th goal of the season for Boston Bruins

David Pastrnak scored the only goal for the Bruins in the 2nd period which counted for his 49th goal of the season, which is a career-high.

However, this play would not have happened without the saucer pass from Tyler Bertuzzi.

It’s no question that Pastrnak has done fantastic for the Bruins this season, as he is helping the Bruins become potentially the best team of all-time this season and will be key for a Stanley Cup Final run.

Pastrnak also tied for 8th Bruins all-time in career goals with Ken Hodge with his 289th goal on Tuesday Night.

Tyler Bertuzzi scores 1st Boston Bruins goal

Tyler Bertuzzi scored the first goal of the game which was his first goal since becoming a Bruin after the trade from the Detroit Red Wings. This was also the fifth goal of the season overall for Bertuzzi.

Take a look at Bertuzzi’s goal from behind the net.

Bertuzzi was assisted by Charlie Coyle and Jakub Zboril, who’s back in the lineup after being out of the lineup for the most part since November. Zboril and AJ Greer replaced Brandon Carlo and Jakub Lauko who both were healthy scratches.

Boston Bruins were awful on the power play

The Boston Bruins were 0/5 on the power play in this game, which they have struggled with at points this season although they’re 12th highest percentage as they’re around a power-play rating of 22 percent.

Although, they’ve been hot on the power play recently as they’ve scored a power play goal in three straight games.

Next. Boston Bruins are so good they’re too good to be true. dark

Although, if the Bruins don’t pick up their Power-play game, then they could start struggling as a team as the man advantage is very important in my opinion.

The Bruins will play the last game of their three-game homestand against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday Afternoon at 1 PM on NESN or NHL Network (outside the New England market).
