Boston Bruins: David Pastrnak’s 60 goal season part of a storybook ride
There are good seasons and there are great seasons. Then occasionally, there is a magical season thrown into the mix. For the Boston Bruins, the 2022-2023 season continues to be one of those magical seasons that are hard to describe.
The Bruins played the Flyers in Philadelphia Sunday night on the second night of a back-to-back. They took care of the Devils with a 2-1 victory, to tie the regular season record for wins. On Sunday, David Pastrnak continued to add onto a great season.
He notched a hat trick to secure his first 60 goal season of his career. His previous high was 48 goals back in the 2019-2020 season.
What David Pastrnak and the Bruins continue to do is something special and fun to watch on a nightly basis!
Boston Bruins securing a star in David Pastrnak
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the 6-foot-1 right winger is having this type of a season. He’s continued to show he’s one of the young stars in all of the NHL. Yes, Connor McDavid is good in his own right. But it’s fun having such a young star in the city of Boston!
We knew that the contract extension talks were a distraction for “Pasta” and the team heading into this season. But an eight-year extension took care of that pretty easily.
When guys like Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, and David Krejci leave; he’s going to need to be one of the veteran leaders in that locker room. Scoring 60 goals in a season will easily get the attention of everyone else in the organization! Now if he does it consistently, he’ll have the complete respect of the team and league as a whole, more than he already has it!

Besides winning money for fans, watching this team night in and night out is an absolute delight.
The way they pass the puck, the way they play short-handed, how “Pasta” scores his goals in a multitude of ways; it all adds up to the results we’ve seen!
Can the Bruins ever do this again? Probably not. But can David Pastrnak continue to show why he is the future of the Boston Bruins? Absolutely!
The bottom line with the Boston Bruins and David Pastrnak
Congratulations to “Pasta” for scoring 60 goals in a season! To be able to score almost a goal a game in the NHL is an extremely hard task to do. But Pastrnak does it with grace and ease.
As great as the individual accomplishment is for David Pastrnak, there are bigger things ahead for this Bruins team.
It’s “Cup or Bust!” at this point for this team. You don’t go through the regular season at the pace the Bruins have and settle for a first or second round exit. You need to finish the job.
Hopefully “Pasta” will be able to bring his elite scoring ability to the playoffs for 16 more wins. If the Bruins don’t win the Cup, then something like this for Pastrnak won’t feel as good in the long-run.
