Here we go again New England Patriots fans!

For the whole off-season, the Patriots have been prioritizing improving their anemic offense from a season ago.

They made some really good signings in wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster and tight end Mike Gesicki.

But in a Bill O’Brien led offense in 2023, another star receiver could help make them that much better. One name that has been linked to the Patriots throughout the off-season is (now former) Cardinals star receiver Deandre Hopkins.

We’ve heard for months about hypothetical trades and moves to get D-Hop in a Patriots uniform. Well after Friday, the path could be a lot easier than we all initially anticipated.

Hopkins was released by the Cardinals Friday afternoon in what some might call a surprise move. This now allows the five time Pro-Bowl receiver to sign with any team he wants.

If I were Bill Belichick, I’d be making the call to Deandre Hopkins right now!

New England Patriots having the money to pay Deandre Hopkins

It’s no secret that the New England Patriots can get Deandre Hopkins if they really want him in Foxborough. Often times, money talks in professional sports and it wouldn’t surprise me if the same situation occurred here.

The Patriots have right around $13-14 million in cap space. So if they wanted to, they could give Hopkins a fairly good contract.

Other teams like the Chiefs would have to do a LOT of wiggle room to make the money work. The Patriots are fortunate that they don’t have that problem.

Plus, should Hopkins sign in New England, corresponding moves would be made. Kendrick Bourne released or traded perhaps?

New England Patriots having everything Deandre Hopkins wants

D-Hop had some things he wanted in his next NFL team. You tell me if this fits the New England Patriots?

The QB that loves the game and brings everyone on board with him. I think the Patriots have that, considering how teammates have nothing but great things to say about Mac Jones.

A great defense. New England has one of the better defenses in the entire NFL. Not only that, they added pieces in the draft in Christian Gonzalez and Keion White that should make an immediate impact on the defense.

Stable management? The Pats are about as stable of an organization as anyone can ask for, from Robert Kraft to Belichick.

So New England checks off all three of Deandre Hopkins’ wishes for his next team. Makes you think…

Deandre Hopkins is the final piece to the puzzle

Me personally, I think Deandre Hopkins is the final piece to the puzzle for this upcoming season.

dark. Next. This UDFA may be best offseason move for Patriots

There’s no excuses now. Yes, Hopkins market will be very large. But if you have the money and can give him everything he wants in his next team, why not make the move?

But especially don’t let him go to the Buffalo Bills. You already lost to them once when they traded for Stefon Diggs. Don’t let it happen again!

Just when I think I’m out on Deandre Hopkins coming to the New England Patriots, I get pulled right back in! This week will be very telling about how aggressive the Pats will be to get D-Hop here.
