Tom Brady just keeps finding his way into the headlines.

With NFL training camp is just around the corner, the best sight so far for New England Patriots fans was seeing Mac Jones hanging out with Brady.

The buzz on social media this week was an Instagram post delivered by retired Patriots safety Devin McCourty showing himself in a selfie with his two former teammates TB12 and MAC10.

All smiles Patriots fans, all smiles:

Patriots have been just another team without Tom Brady

Instead, fans and critics have been privy to life without Brady and three polarizing seasons of mediocrity.  What the current Patriots quarterback had to endure in two seasons as the signal caller was much more drama than Brady had to endure in his two decades of leading the top franchise in the NFL.

Well, Seth Wickersham would disagree with that as there was much drama between Brady and Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

The difference is the team was winning and the quarterback was successful.  Any beef or rift between the two was kept behind closed doors until the end.  With Mac Jones, that hasn’t been the case through his first two seasons in the NFL.  After a successful rookie season, it appeared Belichick did everything to stunt his growth in the second season in the NFL.

Mac Jones not only struggled on the field taking play calls from the likes of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, but his display of temper tantrums didn’t also bold well for a young quarterback yet to accomplish anything in the NFL.  Fans, critics, and former players could understand his frustration, but criticized his lack of leadership.

Above that, Jones committed the cardinal sin of going outside the organization seeking help.  That’s a no-no in the world of Belichick and Jones will have to put on a Brady-like season in 2023 to get back in the good graces of the grumpy, stubborn Belichick.

Tom Brady could give Mac Jones a lesson on life with Bill Belichick

Although both Brady and Belichick have swapped praises of one another since the classic breakup in 2020, the Instagram post may have placed a frown on the Patriots coach, not that he pays attention to “Instaface” or maybe he’d call it “tictokgram” these days.

Because Tom Brady is the one person who would teach Mac Jones a thing or two about dealing and playing under Belichick.  Compliments have been rare, although the respect and appreciation were there.  As Patriots fans know, Brady went many seasons with less talent around him because he was HIM.

Brady was the Patriot Way through his leadership and success.  He was the face of the franchise and Belichick had to swallow that pill.  So, above the great Brady perhaps giving Mac Jones lessons in mastering the playbook, he can teach him humility and how to be a jewel in Belichick’s eye instead of being in the doghouse.

The one thing Brady knows is when it comes to the quarterback position, Belichick will challenge a player to keep him humble.  Mac Jones needs to accept that challenge and just execute on the field.

With that said, hopefully there will be more sights of Brady with Mac!
