3. Marcus Jones

Circling back a bit, I also get this feeling that Marcus Jones will be inactive this weekend.

The Baton Rouge, LA native injured his shoulder while making a routine tackle against the Dolphins last week. He exited the game during the second quarter and didn’t return, leaving his Week 3 status in the air.

Even though it’s been four days since his injury, there hasn’t been much light shed on a possible return. Jones didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday and when Belichick was asked about his CB’s injury, the always-cryptic bench boss simply said, “Still working on it.”

Jones is a key dual-threat for us who’s played 44 defensive snaps and 9 special teams snaps through two weeks. His absence would be felt in a secondary that already has Isaiah Bolden and Jack Jones on the IR, as well as Jonathan Jones dealing with an ankle injury.

Unless Marcus Jones’ status greatly improves over the next few days, we might have to wait another week until we see him back on the gridiron.
