5. Sam Roberts

Second-year edge Sam Roberts is still looking to make his 2023 debut. The 25-year-old defender played 50 snaps between defense and special teams last year but hasn’t seen his number called yet.

There just hasn’t been a need for Brown thus far. Our pass rush has been decent so far, highlighted by 10 QB Hurries (ninth-most in NFL). As long as that success continues, there’s no reason to play him ahead of the trio of Deatrich Wise Jr., Lawrence Guy Sr. and Keion White.

The Patriots also don’t need an extra edge rusher with how bad the Jets’ offensive line has been. The unit is allowing pressures on 33.3% of dropbacks, which is the third-most in the league. That’s without mentioning how Wilson has already thrown 4 interceptions while being sacked five times.

If our pass rush was struggling, I’d be all for giving Roberts a chance. But it’s been perfectly adequate and I don’t anticipate many issues against New York.

Unless there’s a defensive line injury by Sunday, chances are Roberts won’t be suiting up.
