5 Patriots Most Likely to Be Inactive vs. Cowboys in Week 4
By Isaiah De Los Santos
The New England Patriots finally got back in the win column this past Sunday, giving the team some positive momentum heading into Week 4. Now the Pats will take on the Dallas Cowboys, who are suddenly looking vulnerable after a surprising loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
If New England is to upset Dallas, it’ll need its best players on the field. That means a few will, unfortunately, be deemed inactive to clear the way for depth in important areas.
With that in mind, here are the five Patriots most likely to be inactive in Week 4.
Projecting Patriots Inactives Week 4 vs. Cowboys
1. Kayshon Boutte
It’s clear as day that Kayshon Boutte simply hasn’t done enough to warrant a role in this offense right now.
Boutte was active in Week 1 and enjoyed some legit usage, playing 69% of the team’s offensive snaps against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the rookie failed to capitalize on this opportunity. He didn’t record a catch despite seeing 4 targets, starting the 2023 campaign off on the wrong foot.
Since then, the LSU product has been inactive for two straight games, which seems to show he’s in the doghouse right now. Kendrick Bourne is leading the receiving corps in the early going, while Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki have provided nice supporting threats.
Throw in the likes of DeVante Parker, Demario Douglas and even JuJu Smith-Schuster, and there’s no room for Boutte to make an impact at the moment.
