3. Sidy Sow

Speaking of injured Patriots, guard Sidy Sow is in the same boat as Jones at this moment.

Sow is currently working his way back to the lineup after suffering a concussion. The injury prevented him from suiting up in Week 2, but he appeared to make progress early last week after being limited in Wednesday’s practice.

However, the rookie may have suffered a setback in his return, as he was then downgraded to a DNP on Thursday. The team ultimately ruled him out early on Saturday as well, opting to sit him for the second straight game.

Head injury recoveries are notorious for being unique to each player. Some can clear protocols without missing any actual games, while others are sidelined for a few. On the extreme end, the symptoms last months and can even disrupt a season.

Judging by Sow practicing in some capacity last week, he’s making some progress. But his potential setback this past Thursday is certainly a reason for the team to play things extremely safe with the rookie.

Though the O-line is a bit banged up right now, there’s absolutely no incentive to rush Sow back, especially considering the type of injury he’s dealing with. It’d be no surprise if he sits another week to make sure he gets fully right.
