"Truck Day" has arrived for the Red Sox, as the team is prepping for the 2025 season after an eventful offseason for Craig Breslow and company.
In my previous Red Sox article, I highlighted how the Boston fanbase was growing frustrated after a lack of urgency by the front office during free agency. In mid-December, Red Sox fans were ecstatic with the additions of Garret Crochet and Walker Buehler.
Fast forward to now, the Red Sox still haven't signed a right-handed hitter to fill the void after losing Tyler O'Neil in free agency. They also haven't addressed their bullpen besides signing an aging Aroldis Chapman after losing Chris Martin and Kenley Jansen.
After another disappointing report from Jeff Passan, the Royals have signed closer Carlos Estevez, a player the Red Sox had checked in on but weren't truly serious about bringing in. Estevez now heads to the Royals, a team that beat out the Red Sox for a wild-card spot last season.
As questions swirl around the Red Sox heading into Spring Training, there are still notable free agents on the board that would improve the roster.
Here are the 3 best remaining free agents that the Red Sox must target if they want to get back to the postseason for the first time since 2021.
