2. Jaden Springer, SG/PG

The Celtics sent a second-round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers back in February to acquire former 2021 first-round pick Jaden Springer. The move added some depth while taking a chance on a young player who had yet to hit his stride in Philadelphia.

Springer didn't end up having that big of a role upon his arrival. He averaged 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds while averaging 7.6 minutes across 17 regular-season games before making four forgettable postseason appearances.

After a disappointing first impression, Springer garnered attention this offseason when he made an NBA Summer League appearance. The ex-Tennessee guard scored 23 points while shooting 53.3% from the field and 50.0% from deep in a 119-114 victory over the Miami Heat on July 13, leaving Celtics fans to wonder if he'd be ready to take the next step this season.

Whether or not Springer's game improves, there's a chance that he might not be in Boston beyond the upcoming season. After all, he's a restricted free agent in the summer. If the Celtics know that they aren't bringing him back in 2025-26, they could also dangle him and some draft picks at the trade deadline in hopes of adding a veteran role player.

Unless Springer's development takes a massive leap, it won't be surprising if he's out of Boston sooner rather than later.
