The New England Patriots have been one of the busiest teams of the offseason. Entering free agency with more money than they knew what to do with, the Patriots broke the bank for multiple free agents with the hopes of improving in Drake Maye's second season at the helm.

Wide receiver was one of the main areas of need. The Patriots signed Stefon Diggs to a lucrative, three-year deal and brought in Mack Hollins, but questions remain about the viability of the Patriots' pass-catchers.

Throughout the offseason, Patriots fans had their eyes on a star wide receiver they were hoping to lure to New England. AJ Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles, coming off a Super Bowl win, was the apple of the eye of many in Foxborough. In fact, NBC Sports' Matthew Berry reported that the Patriots called Philly to ask if Brown was available earlier in the offseason.

While nothing has come to fruition so far, Brown is leaning into the speculations and teasing Patriots fans in the meantime.

In his latest Instagram post, the Eagles star is seen showing a Patriots jersey signed by Julian Edelman, failing to contain his excitement.

What Brown is doing here is obvious. He intentionally shows the front of the jersey with the number 11, which happens to be his own jersey number, and says, "It's finally official, the wait is over". He then proceeds to show the back of the jersey to reveal Edelman's name and signature.

His respect for Edelman is clear and is probably the main impetus for the video. At the same time, he remembers to make the most out of the situation and have fun with it.

Edelman took notice right away and commented on Brown's video, endorsing him for using his jersey number when he signs with New England.

It's hard to imagine any team would have much success trying to pry Brown away from the Eagles, but when that time comes, the Patriots will surely be a frontrunner in trying to acquire the three-time Pro Bowler.
